Find ADHD Therapy Confusing?

Is there a diagnostic test that can be done through a mental health clinic? I had my son in therapy for many years and has a clinical diagnosis of ADHD, OCD and mild Tourett's syndrome… I am concerned he may also have autism given all I have seen regarding the most identifiable symptoms.
Anyone know how a diagnosis is made? I want to be best equipped to help him as possible! I discontinued his therapy after a change in his therapist. He does not take any more mind altering drugs as, I really was not satisfied with how the adverse effects changed him into a different person after many tries on several prescriptions..in fact most meds made the tourett's worse. I plan to get in touch once again with his psychologist to see about evaluation. I still am not sure about him taking any Rx's to change who he is and how he acts…Do people with Autism or Aspergers rely on prescription meds? Anyone know?
