Can ADHD or ADD be found through a blood test?

I asked my dr about adhd for my daughter and she said she gives a blood test. Is this right?
No mental illnesses can not be found through a blood test. However they may give a blood test to rule out other physical factors that may cause similar symptoms. Like thyroid issues or such
