Unable to convince parents into taking me to a doctor for adhd?

From previous years of my life, i had a drug addictions and drug abuser problem. Now since my adhd is getting so bad that my grades are starting to become F’s and my friends i am losing. Due to the inability to shut my mouth! please some method to convince them before i lose my whole life to adhd.

You really should be proud of yourself for stopping the drugs. If your parents won’t listen and don’t understand ADHD and it is disrupting your life. The best thing you can do is talk to your counselor at school. She is trained to help you and she is trained how to discuss it with your parents and help them to understand that you need help. Or a teacher that you trust can also help you. Don’t give up.

Also for support and advice there are numbers that you can call that are staffed by professionals who are available 24 hours a day. You don’t have to have an emergency to talk to them. One is 1-800-273-talk or 1-800-4ACHILD. It is obvious that you are a teen and this number is for you also. Please keep up and good luck>

    What the heck is your parent’s problems? They should be the one to convince you to go to the doctor, not you. Tell them what you told us. Why wouldn’t they take you?

    Find a way to get to a Dr. if you have a family member that can take you do it. My gran daughter has this and nobody wants her around, my daughter won’t put her on pills….I will not even take her into my house and I am the grand mother, she is up all night, talks your head off, disrupts school. The school has spoke to the mom but again she will not put her on pills….she is going to destroy her daughters life, like I said nobody wants to be around her….Sorry you are going through this, it sounds like you are trying to straighten out your life, you would think your parents would help you.

    first go to the school nurse or one of the councilors and tell them what you think an why. If they think you are overstating you problem they will let you know, if they agree they can schedule an appointment with your parents to explain how destructive this behavior is to your life.
